Why didn't the College President and Dean of Faculty criticize a professor for sexual relations with a student, at the same college?

I forgot which episode - if you know, kindly edit this question. In the 2026 TV series Rooster, Archie Bates meets with President Walter Mann and Dylan Shepard as the Dean of Faculty. They are all sitting in Mann's office. I forget how, but Archie's sexual relationship with Sunny Salewski comes up. but all President Mann and Dean Shepard do, is give Archie the stink eye!

I'm surprised that Mann and Shepard failed to comment on, let alone disapprove of, Archie impregnating Sunny, when Archie holds power imbalance with Sunny as Archie is a professor and Sunny a graduate student, and they're all at the same college.

Why didn't Mann and Shepard comment on this sexual relation? Is this realistic - do American colleges not care if a professor impregnates a graduate student at the same college?

Top Answer/Comment:

There is no power imbalance as such since Archie Bates does not actually teach Sunny, as it is explicitly stated in the show that she was never his student. Instead, Archie (played by Phil Dunster) is Ludlow College's resident Russian literature expert and professor.

Granted, the President and Dean might frown upon the relationship, but unless there is a specific rule or policy against it (such as is the case at Harvard), there is nothing they can do except disapprove.
