Print job stuck on pending on Ubuntu 24.04 with Canon MF230

I'm using Ubuntu 24.04.4 on x86_64 PC with Canon MF230. Printing a pdf file from Okular worked just fine last night, but stopped today. PC reboot and power cycling the printer didn't help. Here are the screenshots showing the print job permanently stuck on pending:

The scanning works just fine, but the printing doesn't. Any clues will be greatly appreciated.

Printing from another Ubuntu 24.04.4 PC goes into processing mode for a few seconds and stops in paused mode.

Comment: If you click on the drop down menu of printer names (as seen in your screenshot) do you see any other options for the same printer? How is the printer connected, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB? Can you verify the IP address of the printer has not changed, if connected by Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable?
